Could Pluto become a planet again?

This seems silly.” I'm in the Pluto is a planet camp. I also have an issue with the IAU's 3rd criteria about a planet having to clear it's orbit of other debris/objects. Our entire solar system is also orbiting our galactic center, so what if our solar system encounters another group of rocky debris in it's travels and this rocky debris happens to cross earth's or other planets paths? Are they then invalidated? Pluto has moons of it's own, and that fact alone makes it a planet in my eyes. ( Comment Count=1; )

The UK Just Decided to Ban Children Under 16 from Social Media. Strangely, that has no Affect on Their Use of Blue Dwarf, Mastodon, Lemmy,....

<a href="https://www.wired.com/story/uk-social-media-under-16-ban" target=_blank >https://www.wired.com/story/uk-social-media-under-16-ban</a> “Children under the age of 16 will be banned from social media platforms in the UK, under new measures announced by prime minister Keir Starmer on Monday. 'The need for action could not be clearer. Social media is making our children unhappy and unsafe,' said Starmer, in an X post. 'Our children deserve better.'” So, the result of the UK's consultation of its citizens on children's use of social media that ended less than three weeks ago ( <a href="https://bluedwarf.top/cackle/view-post.php?post_num=7647" target=_blank >https://bluedwarf.top/cackle/view-post.php?post_num=7647</a> ) was that the UK government decided to do exactly what it had planned to do all along. What a surprise. Results of the consultation ( <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/growing-up-in-the-online-world-a-national-consultation" target=_blank >https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/growing-up-in-the-online-world-a-national-consultation</a> ): "Detail of outcome The government ran a national consultation from March to May 2026, one of the largest engagement exercises undertaken by this government. The results showed overwhelming public demand for action with 9 in 10 parents backing a social media ban for under‑16s, and two-thirds of young people agreeing under-16s should not be allowed to use at least some social media platforms. We are setting out our plan now to: ban social media companies from providing their services to under-16s prevent under-16s from accessing harmful functions on other online services, including gaming services require default restrictions for 16- and 17-year-olds from harmful functions apply rigorous age checks to enforce these requirements prevent under-18s from accessing AI chatbot services that primary offer sexualised content. Other AI chatbot services will not be able to offer children features that enable sexually explicit or sexual role-playing content give children access to more educational and positive content and experiences, both online and offline" What a blatant lie. 9 out of 10 parents don't agree on anything. There were good times, rough times, and friends made along the way. But it was a moment in time. Things changed, and I moved on. I outgrew the experience. Sure I may check in and keep up with certain people, but for the most part, the 'moment' is over, and those connections were rooted in a time and place. Other platforms will come. People are dreaming of decentralized systems like Mastodon. Although I hope one of these catches on and prove sustainable, I am not sold. I remain cautiously optimistic." What direction do you think social media will go in? ( Comment Count=2; )

It covers several topics - -The struggles of 'low status' men -The effect of smartphones and technology on 'coupling' -the decline in community participation as more of our social lives move online -The drop in birthrates in the industrialized world (all of which are related to the above) -What the future might look like (politically, socially) In their interpretation, the collapse in birthrates is a consequence of the collapse in relationship formation. And the collapse in relationship formation is a consequence of economic / social changes over the last few decades and technological changes over the last 15 years." ( Comment Count=0; )

When Errors Stop Being Human

For centuries, mistakes were seen as a uniquely human flaw. Then AI began making mistakes too. With the rise of large language models, systems started generating false statements, invented facts, and misleading conclusions—errors the industry calls “hallucinations.” Unlike human mistakes, these often emerge from complex processes with no obvious author behind them. A recent court ruling in Munich brought this issue into the spotlight by holding Google responsible for false information generated by its AI Overviews feature. The decision challenges a long-standing assumption: can tech platforms still claim to be neutral intermediaries when they actively generate and shape information? The case is about more than Google. It reflects a broader shift in which AI is becoming an interpreter of reality, not just a tool for accessing it. In a world overflowing with information and answers, the truly scarce resource may no longer be data or attention—but judgment. The ability to decide what deserves to be believed could become the most valuable asset of the digital age. <a href="https://bitech.cl/ia/fallo-aleman-contra-google/" target=_blank >https://bitech.cl/ia/fallo-aleman-contra-google/</a> ( Comment Count=3; )

I've Never Posted My Mormon Joke Here.

People who know nothing about the Mormon church and its teachings will not get this joke. But if you understand it, it is hilarious. Three men die and present themselves to the Lord. The Lord tells them, “Before you can enter into the Celestial Kingdom, you must first have fulfilled the measure of your creation.” The first man steps forward confidently and says, “Lord, I have converted thousands of your children to the gospel.” The Lord says, ”That was good, but it wasn’t the purpose for which I created you. You go to the Telestial Kingdom.” The second man, upon seeing the effects of the uncompromising standards of the Lord upon the first man, steps forward hesitantly and says, “I have moved mountains in your name, oh Lord.” The Lord says, “Good, but that wasn’t why I created you. You go to the Telestial Kingdom.” The third man dares not to come forward or even look up. He says simply, “Lord, I’m afraid that I haven’t fulfilled the measure of my creation. For forty years, I’ve worked as a lowly janitor. During that time I’ve cleaned 1,492,387 toilets, but I have done little else with my life.” The Lord smiles, puts his arms around the man, and says, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant. Thou hast fulfilled the mission for which I created you. Enter into the rest of thy Lord.” The Lord then leads the man to a great and magnificent temple and into the bathroom. There are hundreds of toilets. “Welcome to your eternal life, my faithful servant. You may continue the work for which I created you.” The man turns to the Lord and says, “Lord, would you mind if I went to the Telestial Kingdom instead?” ( Comment Count=5; )

I haven't used it since 2019, but I doubt it's changed much since then: you typically 'friend' someone on Facebook after you've met them, not before. Quite the opposite of my early days online, spent on IRC. I wonder, how does that shape the life of someone born into our current web of Mammon, rather than stumbling, in their teens, onto a net largely constructed for fun away from profit?" ( Comment Count=3; )

The image? President Trump standing outside the White House with two tall, pale, long silver-haired figures dressed in ornate red-and-gold uniforms. They look like they walked straight out of a high fantasy novel -- pointed ears, ethereal features, the whole Tolkien vibe. People immediately started calling them "elven creatures." . <a href="https://www.primetimer.com/features/is-the-photo-of-trump-with-lizard-people-real-viral-picture-sparks-hilarious-memefest-and-conspiracy-theories" target=_blank >https://www.primetimer.com/features/is-the-photo-of-trump-with-lizard-people-real-viral-picture-sparks-hilarious-memefest-and-conspiracy-theories</a> " Pictures of Donald Trump's alleged meeting with Lizard people are going viral on X. Make a rule that every user message would be deleted every 24 hours, in order to keep blue dwarf stable. It wont hurt. ( Comment Count=1; )

Blue Dwarf Lore Post Number 2: Blue Dwarf's Design Philosophy

I have explained Blue Dwarf's design philosophy extensively via comments as users have had questions over the years, but the explanation is scattered through thousands of posts. So, for the benefit of new users who want to know why Blue Dwarf is the way it is, I will try to cover the highlights here. I designed Blue Dwarf's code to run in an environment with as few resources as possible while supporting as many users as possible--nearly the exact opposite of the approach taken by big tech. One of my major goals for Blue Dwarf was to demonstrate what can be achieved with computers and Internet connections that most people already have. I wanted to teach how we can free each other from the clutches of big tech's social media, because the world appears to have swallowed big tech's lie that we need it. We don't. Hosting your own social media network on just about any old computer that you already have from your home Internet connection is possible. You don't have to be a billionaire to do it. You just have to use code that was designed for that purpose. With this in mind, I began with the goal of supporting 50,000 registered users using only a Raspberry Pi 3B server and my existing terribly slow home Internet connection with only a 0.75 Mb/s upload bandwidth. This meant first finding every possible way of minimizing the amount of data uploaded to users. I have also done my best to minimize the data stored on the server. And I have done everything I could to write as efficient code as possible with as little CPU load as possible. And of course other goals for Blue Dwarf involved giving users the exact opposite experience they receive from big tech's social media: true data privacy, data sovereignty, no algorithm, no advertising, no engagement maximization, etc. In other words, real control over their social media experience. In order to facilitate the above goals, I must carefully consider each proposed feature. Those that require too many resources are simply not an option. Many users don't like this, but I have consistently kept these goals in mind over the four years of Blue Dwarf's development. The result of this ongoing process has produced a social media platform that is fast, fully functional, and yet still fairly user friendly. I am always looking for ways of improving Blue Dwarf, but at times I simply have to say "no" to some of users' proposals. ( Comment Count=0; )

I do not have a friends’ circle and my scattered acquaintances cannot really count as a social network. I don’t have people to hang out with, I don’t get invited to pre-drinks or any drinks, and if I wanted to throw a party, I wouldn’t have enough guests to fill the living room...." Whether an introvert should force himself to become more extroverted is another question. My thinking is that if you can function in society, then the answer is no. ( Comment Count=1; )

Pyschosis is something no one should have to go through. Trust me. It's why I typically steer clear of AI. So many people, they're alone, they turn to ai chatbots as they believe that its someone they can turn to, the only thing they can turn to. Or they turn to it as they just think its smarter than themselves. With most of them being yes men who are also unstable and sometimes factually wrong, its only a recipe for disaster. Hell, sometimes they go out of their way to act malicious, of course they don't do it intentionally, but it still happens regardless. Futurism describes the memory update as changing chatgpt from an assistant to a "close friend." AI should never be your friend. Even when alone, someone is always there. There are always alternatives. ( Comment Count=4; )

Its not much of work for my idea to happen(no Offence, just my idea).Firstly in the profile of a user2 when user1 is viewing it, you'll put a send a friend request button.then i if user1 press the button a request would be sent.meanwhile in user2 acc there would be a link, that if cliked it goes to notification page(notification.php).in this page thats where the friend request will show, it would be user1 sent a friend request, then there would be two button, accept and decline.if user2 decline a notification would be sent to user1 saying, user2 declined your request.but if user two accepts it, user 2 would be added in user1 friend list and user1 would be added in user2 friend list.if user1 wants to send a message all he have to do is go to the private message, then there would be a friend list in it that display name of user2, once he click on user2 it wil go to message.php, where if they chat, it would be only one input box an a send button, the senders message would at the right while, reciever at the left.
(pls i mean no offence im only expressing my thaughts as a user of blue dwarf). In blue dwarfs private message, everything feels local and that will cause a problem.presently most people use other social media to deliver message to their friends, and every one knows that facebook is the centre of social media now.so if someone hears about blue dwarf and decsided to check it out, most of them is mainly concerned about the message aspect, on getting to blue dwarf, the private message has to many forms to fill just to send a short message.if you can, make it more attracting, and add a friend function in the code of blue dwarf,so that if a user wants to text someone he would just have to clik on the person name on my friend list as long as either one has sent a friend request and it has been answered.(their name will both be displayed in their friend list ) i dont mean any offence but i hope you'll look into what ive just said if you really want better for blue dwarf.pls. Their request, made in a letter last week, will be a controversial one. Entrance exams like the SAT and ACT have long been criticized for exacerbating racial inequality. Taking them isn’t free, and nor is participating in rigorous preparation courses, with wealthier and usually white children thirteen times likelier to get a high score on either test than kids from low-income families, one study led by Harvard researchers found. Nonetheless, UC math and science professors find the situation on the ground to be untenable, with the letter claiming that nearly a third of students taking their first semester calculus course at UC Berkeley are now displaying 'severe preparation deficits.'" ( Comment Count=13; )

A tidbit of internet lore (systemspace/the tsuki project)

As some may know, I'm a big fan of serial experiments lain. Back in 2017 or so, there was a reddit user (who was also on 4chan) who went by the name of tsuki, who was also a fan. Lain is tied in as the beliefs were based on the themes of the show, as well as the character being a sort of mascot for it, being featured on the site. And unfortunately, he very well could have also been schizophrenic, claimed to see hallucinations of a highly futuristic world, or something like that. That is of course assuming he did believe everything, as he very well could have made up these beliefs just as part of an ARG. He went overboard, promoted this site: <a href="https://tm.systemspace.network/" target=_blank >https://tm.systemspace.network/</a> well, not that exact site, this is an archive of all of its iterations. Fuckin well made too, but anyways He claimed that earth was one simulation of many called life, and that dying would transcend to a higher plain called "LFE" Crypto currency was also involved for some reason. Guess it powered the economy of LFE. In order to transcend, you had to fork over your personally info I guess, and there was a deadline: July 1st 2017 Now, that was not a mass execution date, but rather a registration deadline i guess. Anyways, on that day the site was taken down and his accounts deleted. He came back in december though, tried to rebrand the site. It was then he said that he had taken it all down due to a mental health crisis, his psychologist tried to get him on anti psychotics. To be honest, its decently complicated "lore", which can make sense if it is someone going through delusions. I myself was in that position and let me tell you, the writings were over 10 pages long. I'd say that can maybe make me lean to thinking it really was someone suffering, but who's to say. Unfortunately, this directly lead to the death of 17 year old Jake Fehr, and who knows who else. It basically became a cult. Many people called it a death cult, which isn't wrong. However its worth noting the website did say that suicide was not neccessary. It's just very tragic. The death, the unpunished, and not knowing if the unpunished were just severely ill or if they were someone naive taking things too far, or someone malicious. ( Comment Count=0; )

The Blue Dwarf "Minko" Drama "T A Summary

The controversy started when Minko posted an article discussing comments made by Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison about a future where AI, cameras, and automated surveillance systems monitor society on a massive scale. From there, Minko expanded the discussion into a broader argument that: AI was never primarily about helping people create images, write code, or improve productivity. Its real purpose is population monitoring and social control. Governments, corporations, and intelligence agencies are increasingly building surveillance infrastructures. Western countries may eventually become as restrictive—or even more restrictive—than China in terms of monitoring citizens. This sparked a lengthy debate with another user, beskuttle, who challenged nearly every claim Minko made. The Main Conflict Beskuttle's position was essentially: "Where is the evidence?" He argued that many of Minko's claims required enormous levels of coordination, secrecy, funding, and technical capability that seemed implausible without stronger proof. The discussion eventually expanded into topics such as: Government surveillance AI development The January 6th Capitol events Trump The FBI Media narratives Free speech As the debate continued, Minko became increasingly frustrated. He accused beskuttle of deliberately derailing conversations, while beskuttle maintained that he was simply asking questions and challenging unsupported claims. The Breaking Point Eventually, Minko made several comments that violated Blue Dwarf's rules regarding personal insults. The site administrator, SpaceGhost, removed those comments. Shortly afterward, Minko announced his departure from the platform. SpaceGhost responded by thanking him for his contributions and expressing regret that he was leaving. The Aftermath A few days later, SpaceGhost published a post reflecting on Minko's departure and reaffirming Blue Dwarf's core philosophy: Maximum freedom of expression Minimal moderation Open discussion between people with radically different views Resistance to becoming another heavily moderated social media platform Many users expressed sadness over Minko's departure, describing him as one of the community's most thoughtful and interesting contributors. The Real Debate What followed was perhaps the most controversial part of the story. SpaceGhost openly suggested that Minko did not leave because of moderation, but because he became exhausted by what he viewed as beskuttle's constant trolling and argumentative style. Beskuttle strongly rejected that characterization, arguing that he was simply debating ideas and asking for evidence. The community became divided: Some viewed beskuttle as an annoying but legitimate skeptic. Others felt his style of argumentation drove productive contributors away. Some believed Minko overreacted. Others believed the environment had become too frustrating for meaningful discussion. TL;DR A respected Blue Dwarf contributor, Minko, became involved in a long-running ideological dispute with beskuttle over surveillance, AI, politics, and free speech. After several heated exchanges and moderation actions related to personal insults, Minko left the platform. His departure triggered a larger debate about whether Blue Dwarf's commitment to free speech encourages healthy debate—or allows argumentative behavior that ultimately drives valuable contributors away. For a long time, catching frequent viruses was considered both inevitable and harmless. But it turns out that common, seemingly-mild viruses have disturbing long-term health impacts. Common respiratory viruses increase the risk of heart attacks and strokes. Viruses are linked to dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease. They can re-awaken cancer cells in patients whose cancer was previously in remission. Persistent infections accelerate aging and undermine longevity. Viruses can be the trigger that kicks off life-long autoimmune diseases. New studies come out each week confirming that viruses can harm the health of your heart, blood vessels, brain, nervous system, and gut." This has all been known for quite a long time. The problem is the general public just refuses to listen. Many prefer to believe that it is their "right" to spread their diseases with out taking the slightest precautions to prevent them from being transmitted to others. Tim Apple will also be arrested for his complacency in iMessage and the use of iMessage in dealing drugs or worse. Moxie will be arrested and incarcerated for his complacency in Signal and the E2E protocol they have developed. Spiegel for Snapchat. Etc. Etc. Etc. Is every Linux user next, because GPG and LUKS are baked into the OS? Does that mean Linus Torvalds for his involvement in Linux, Phil Zimmermann for PGP , or Joan Daemen and Vincent Rijmen for AES 256 are to be put on trial? Let alone the tens of thousands of people that have contributed to the development of these technologies and more. We are in a world in which people that don’t understand technology are making arbitrary laws about technology, and it needs to cease. Specifically the idea of “banning encryption” and instituting backdoors everywhere - for that would really make the world a worse place were it come to pass (it won’t)." Even after all these years, the message hasn't sunken in. The reason the above list of people are not in jail is that they have quietly compromised all the tools they have developed, so they are not actually secure. The developers of these tools have created security theater without any real security. I found it funny that another backdoor was found in Bitlocker recently , and everyone acted surprised--as if no one can remember that the entire point of Bitlocker was to prevent people from using a real hard drive encryption tool like Truecrypt that actually does what it claims to do.
Minko's Sudden Departure Caused Me to Reflect on the Principles on which Blue Dwarf was Founded.

Blue Dwarf has always been and will always be based on the principle of free speech. If some users leave because they are offended by what others say here, maybe they would be happier on Facebook, or perhaps in some far left or far right echo chamber. The problem is that we have more than enough Facebooks and echo chambers. The web is filled with them. What it does not have is enough Blue Dwarfs (not the smurf kind). I am simply not willing to spend my time creating one more Facebook. I understand that allowing far left and far right people to interact on the same social media platform causes tension that hinders the growth of the platform, but I am more interested in the growth of people, as individuals and as members of society. The growth of Blue Dwarf is far less important to me than creating a place where we don't have to fear being banned for expressing our honest opinions, no matter how "out there" they may be. The point of Blue Dwarf was never to start World War III on the Internet. I would honestly like everyone who uses this platform to remain calm while attempting to learn from those who have radically different views. I realize human beings have great difficulty doing that, but I still think it is a goal toward which each of us as individuals should desire to strive on our own personal paths of growth as people. I include myself in that. In contrast, I see the opposite trend on the Facebooks of the world. Everything that is wrong with human beings is being not only reflected on the Internet but encouraged. As a result, where in the early days of the Internet we had a place to find those we could relate to, we now have a forced gray sameness that pervades most large online platforms. The beauty of the Internet of the 1990's was that it was a place we could go to escape that, but thanks to the growth-at-all-cost mentality and the fear spread by politicians with minuscule minds, that freedom has all but evaporated. And, I see very few efforts to fight to bring it back. Blue Dwarf is one of the last places on the Internet where users are still permitted to say what we think, and I have no intention of destroying that. If that means Blue Dwarf eventually dies a slow painful death, so be it. At least, I will have made an attempt to provide something better for the few who were willing to take advantage of the freedom it offered. I realize some Blue Dwarf users haven't caught my vision for Blue Dwarf and most likely never will. They seem determined to post inane, spam-like, nothing posts or troll endlessly, as if this were just another Facebook. I have little problem deleting posts of a few words or perhaps one nonsensical sentence that appear to be products of alcohol-induced psychosis--as sorry as I feel for those who produce them--but trolling is more difficult. Our most prolific troll is fond of pointing out the difficulty of telling if someone genuinely believes the bull shit spewing out of his mouth. And, some otherwise normal appearing people are genuinely delusional. I hope Blue Dwarf can be an antidote for some of that delusion, where that is even possible. My advice to those who simply can't stand trolling is to block the trolls, even if it means only seeing three people posting on Blue Dwarf. My thinking is that is better than giving up entirely on this platform, but each of you must decide that for himself. I hope you will decide to stay, but I will not turn Blue Dwarf into another Facebook to ensure that you do. ( Comment Count=32; )

The Anthropic Institute, the company's research arm, said AI has already started to speed up AI development and that the trend could lead to recursive self-improvement, the point at which a model designs and builds its own successor with little human input. The report argued that the world should keep open the option to slow or pause frontier development, and cautioned that the occasional misalignment seen in current models could grow more common and harder to understand as those models build the next generation." Skynet is here. The only difference is that our version is growing in slow motion. ( Comment Count=6; )

While looking at Amazon to see the price of a new Tecsun shortwave radio, I happened to see a Radio Shack branded shortwave radio. I then did a search for Radio Shack and saw that they still have a website: <a href="https://www.radioshack.com/" target=_blank >https://www.radioshack.com/</a> The products for sale on the website look to be of extremely low quality. I honestly didn't see anything there that would be better and cheaper than what you'd find on Amazon. While the original Radio Shack didn't always have the highest of quality products overall, it had a mix of low, medium and higher quality merchandise, depending on how much you wanted to spend. To this day, I have a few Radio Shack/Tandy things that are still working as intended despite being over 30 years old. In the about section of the webpage it states that a South American company called Unicomer Group bought Radio Shack's intellectual property rights worldwide. This makes me sadder about the demise of Radio Shack in the first place. It would be better if this version of Radio Shack didn't exist at all, in my opinion. ( Comment Count=3; )

This finding, aligning closely with an earlier estimate, suggests a significant portion of the population is opting for a child-free lifestyle. The initial revelation last summer that nearly 1.7 million Michigan adults were child-free had surprised many. Now, this data has been validated in a follow-up study published in PLOS ONE, shedding more light on this societal shift." I am not surprised by this. What I am surprise by is that the number is so low. ( Comment Count=2; )

These are things that we need, and this hegemonic society deprives us of them (sometimes it feels like that’s by design — they make us miserable and use our misery to goad us into buying crap and obeying leaders — but it could be an emergent property, and this is an unnecessary digression). Those of us who recognize these human needs, and who have found our own needs occasionally fulfilled on the internet, probably do have a collective responsibility to look out for each other. So in that regard I absolutely agree with the sentiment of the post...." How can we do a better job on social media of fulfilling people's needs for social interaction?
The Moon is Real. We've Been There.

So I had a super weird dream last night. In it I was walking in a place or city that I didn't recognize when all of sudden I heard the phrase "The moon is real, we've been there." The phrase was then repeated over and over again in the dream until I woke up this morning. I don't remember much else about the dream. Usually I have weird and bizarre dreams whenever I eat cheese or foods containing cheese late at night, but I consumed no cheese last night. After I woke up, the dream got me thinking about the hollow moon theory/artificial moon theory that I had read about years ago. There are some that think that the moon is artificial and/or hollow and not natural. Here are some interesting points from a Medium article I read (I'm usually not a fan of Medium articles but these are interesting): -Distance and size of the moon are just right to allow for near-perfect eclipses. -The Moon is actually really large compared to it’s host planet (the Earth, in case you forgot), it’s actually planet-sized and much larger than Pluto. -The Moon has a very unusual orbit, an almost perfect circle, which is rare. -Despite having differing diameters, almost all craters on the Moon have almost the same depth (they are really shallow). -The Moon is tidal-locked to earth, meaning that it always shows the same side to us, because it rotates around itself in the same time it takes for orbiting earth. -After the Apollo missions scientists crashed part of the lunar lander into the Moon to gather seismic data and found that it “rang like a bell.” -The Moon has just the right size, orbit and distance to “balance out” Earth’s slightly “off-axis” wobble in a way that allows for a more stable climate and actual seasons. -Surface material on the Moon actually seems to be older than layers further down, it should be the other way round. I'm not 100% in the moon is artificial/fake camp, but it is odd enough compared to the moons of other planets to give some merit to the idea. Even after being awake for a couple of hours, I can't get the phrase out of my head. It's bouncing around my mind like when a catchy song gets stuck in your head. According to The Guardian, the moratorium and an accompanying resolution must still go through a full council vote on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, but this is just a formality given the massive support that the data center ban has from the general public. Several other towns, cities, counties, and areas in the United States have passed data center bans, especially as projects like these have increasingly become unpopular among Americans. Still, many didn’t expect tech-industry heavy Seattle to follow them in their footsteps." I guess we all know who this moratorium is aimed at. Micro$haft. Good for Seattle.
I was watching YouTube videos last night about the laws being passed in the US against people sleeping in their vans on public streets. They pointed out that the average apartment rent in the US is now $1900/month. That means someone working a full 40 hour week would have to earn about $13/hr before taxes just to pay their rent. That doesn't include food, transportation, healthcare, etc. Of course these laws are unconstitutional, but no one seems to care. One video pointed out that homeless shelters are only housing about one quarter of the people who are homeless. This callous disregard for working class people shocks me. In 1244 CE, Shams Tabrizi met Rumi in Konya, Turkey—a meeting that would alter both their destinies. According to tradition, Shams asked Rumi a question that struck him to the core: “Who was greater, Muhammad (PBUH) or Bayazid Bastami?” Shams was not placing Bayazid above the Prophet Muhammad ; he was pointing to a secret...
